High gas prices are your fault.
It’s not a typo. You did not misread. Gas prices are your fault. Before that vein on your forehead starts thumping, allow me to explain. There is certainly something to be said for worldwide demand, oil company greed and speculators. But as much as I would like to put all of the blame on those factors alone, it’s just not so.
Let’s start with the fact that the dollar is in absolute free fall. Why, you ask, is this your fault? Well next time you’re in Walmart buying cheaply made Chinese goods, you’ll have your answer. I’m tired of listening to all these idiots who complain about there being no good paying American jobs. Yet when they wake up in the morning to their alarm clock (made in Taiwan), and click on that coffee maker (made in India), then hop in their car (made in Japan) and get to their job, they wonder why their paycheck is so small each week. Sorry, I’m getting a little off subject. Point is that our addiction to cheaply made goods is a big factor in inflation. The less the dollar is worth, the more expensive things are that we buy from other countries, like Middle Eastern and South American oil. And those higher costs get passed right on to the consumer.
The next reason it’s your fault, at least a lot of you, is because of the lack of competition in the oil market. Let me explain why this is your fault. OPEC has no motivation to increase production because we are not drilling for oil in this country. An article recently published in the Wall Street Journal states: (http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB121201723656327625.html)

These [non-park] areas [of the American West and Alaska] hold an estimated 635 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas – enough to meet the needs of the 60 million American homes fueled by natural gas for over a century. They also hold an estimated 112 billion barrels of recoverable oil – enough to produce gasoline for 60 million cars and fuel oil for 25 million homes for 60 years.

That’s a ton of oil. And we’re sitting on it. While the writer blames Congress. I blame you. We elected these morons. Thank you for giving us a Congress loaded with a bunch of bleeding hearts more interested in appeasing environmentalists than serving the needs of the majority. And don’t think I’m letting Bush off the hook either. Is anyone really that surprised that after 8 years of an oil man in the White House, we have record high gas prices and record high oil company profits? If you are surprised, please have your parents ask for their money back from whatever school you matriculated from.
So please continue buying worthless garbage made in other countries and please keep electing imbeciles to govern us smack tards. But do not whine about high gas prices, because it’s your fault too. Or, take a little responsibility and stop pointing fingers at everyone else. That’s it, I’m done. I’ll wait for the hate mail to start flowing in!
